About the YL Edition Sheet Music Store
This store began as a place to share music I wanted to perform, teach, preserve, and make available to other musicians: rare cello works, new transcriptions, corrected editions, student repertoire, cello ensemble music, chamber music, concertos, sacred music, and original compositions. Over time, it has grown into a large digital catalog covering many levels, styles, and performing forces.
The goal of the store is simple: to provide practical, thoughtfully prepared sheet music for real performers, teachers, students, schools, churches, chamber groups, and ensembles.
All products in this store are digital downloads only. No physical copies are shipped. After purchase, you will receive PDF files that may be printed or used on a tablet.

How the Store Is Organized
The store is organized to make browsing easier.
Bundles appear first, so customers can quickly find pieces that work well together. These may include related works by the same composer, pieces with similar instrumentation, or repertoire grouped by level, style, season, or practical use.
Collections appear next, but only when they include works by various composers or are grouped by theme, instrumentation, level, season, or practical use. Collections devoted to a single composer are filed alphabetically under that composer’s name.
After the bundles and collections, individual products are organized alphabetically by composer, then alphabetically by title within each composer’s listings. This allows the store to function more like a practical music library than a random product feed.
For example, works by Klengel will be grouped under Klengel, with individual titles arranged alphabetically within that composer’s section. Arrangements, transcriptions, urtext editions, and original compositions are included within the same general catalog structure.
Because the catalog is large and some works appear in multiple formats, customers are encouraged to read each product description before purchasing. Descriptions usually explain whether the listing includes a score, part, piano reduction, orchestra score, orchestra parts, complete set, or digital bundle.
About the Editions
Many editions in this store are based on original sources, including autograph manuscripts, first editions, early printed editions, and archival copies. When relevant, product descriptions explain the source used, the editorial approach, and any corrections or additions made.
Some editions are urtext editions, while others are practical performing editions, transcriptions, arrangements, or newly composed works. Editorial markings may be identified through brackets, dashed slurs or hairpins, footnotes, or explanatory notes in the product description.
The purpose of each edition is to serve musicians well: clear notation, usable parts, reliable musical text, and practical performance materials.
ASTA Difficulty Levels
Most cello products include an ASTA level at the end of the description. These levels are based on the American String Teachers Association grading system and are intended to help teachers, students, and performers estimate the difficulty of a piece quickly.
I also use half-levels, such as:
ASTA level: 2.5–3
ASTA level: 3–3.5
ASTA level: 3.5–4
These half-levels give a more precise sense of difficulty, especially for pieces that fall between standard levels.
When a product contains multiple movements or several pieces in one volume, a range such as ASTA level: 3–4 means that the easiest piece or movement is around Level 3, while the most difficult is around Level 4.
For ensemble music, a range such as ASTA level: 2–4 usually means that the easiest part is around Level 2 and the most difficult part is around Level 4.
As a general guide:
Grade 1: Easy keys such as D, G, and C major; simple rhythms in meters such as 4/4, 3/4, and 2/4; exclusively in first position.
Grade 2: Keys may include D, G, C, F, B-flat, and A major, as well as D and G minor. Rhythms and bowings are more difficult than Grade 1, and the music may use first through fourth positions.
Grade 3: May include tenor clef, first through seventh positions, thumb on the center harmonic, longer slurs, more complex bowing styles, and simple double stops.
Grade 4: May include thumb position, treble clef, and more advanced double stops.
Grades 5 and 6: May use all positions, advanced bowing styles, double stops, and other advanced technical demands.
The ASTA level is a guide, not a rigid rule. Difficulty can vary depending on tempo, edition, instrument, individual strengths, ensemble setting, and the amount of preparation time available.
Digital Sheet Music
All sheet music in this store is sold as a digital PDF download. No hard copies are mailed.
Digital sheet music is useful for performers and teachers because files can be downloaded quickly, printed as needed, and used on tablets. It is also practical for schools, studios, churches, and ensembles that need fast access to performance materials.
Please save your files after purchase. For larger works, check the product description carefully to see whether the listing includes a score, individual parts, piano reduction, solo part, orchestra score, orchestra parts, or a complete set.
Bundles and Related Products
Some larger works are divided into separate products so that customers can purchase only the materials they need. For example, a concerto may have separate listings for:
Piano reduction and solo part
Orchestra score
Orchestra parts
Complete score-and-parts set
When available, bundles make it easier to purchase related materials together. Product descriptions will usually mention when a related score, part, or set is available separately.
How to Search the Store
Because the catalog is large, searching by composer, title, instrumentation, or difficulty level can help you find the right piece.
You can also search the store using Google. This is often the easiest way to find a specific item, especially if a title contains accents, foreign-language words, opus numbers, alternate spellings, or unusual instrumentation.
Try searching Google with phrases such as:

site:yuriyleonovich.com/product ASTA level 3 cello piano
site:yuriyleonovich.com/product cello quartet

You can also combine search terms. For example, searching for a composer, instrument, and difficulty level together can help narrow the results:

For Teachers
Teachers will find student pieces, recital works, graded ensemble music, standard repertoire, rare works, and editions that can help students grow musically and technically.
The ASTA levels are included to make it easier to choose music for lessons, studio classes, auditions, festivals, recitals, and ensemble programs. Many pieces are especially useful for students who need music that is playable but still musically rewarding.
For Performers
Performers will find recital pieces, encores, transcriptions, rare Romantic works, twentieth-century discoveries, original compositions, and advanced showpieces. Many editions are designed to help expand the cello repertoire beyond the most familiar standards while still giving audiences music that is compelling, beautiful, and effective.
For Ensembles, Schools, and Churches
The store also includes music for cello ensembles, string groups, mixed chamber ensembles, orchestra, sacred programs, weddings, memorial services, holiday performances, and church services.
Many arrangements are designed with practical performance needs in mind, including graded parts, flexible difficulty ranges, and repertoire that can work in both educational and professional settings.
A Catalog Built for Use
The YL Edition Sheet Music Store is not only a catalog of publications. It is a working library of music created by a performing musician and teacher.
Some pieces are rare works brought back into circulation. Some are corrected editions of standard repertoire. Some are transcriptions made because the music deserves to live on the cello. Some are original compositions shaped by personal history, faith, memory, teaching, performance, and love for the instrument.
Whether you are looking for an intermediate recital piece, a cello choir work, a student concerto, a corrected urtext edition, a forgotten Romantic miniature, sacred music, a holiday arrangement, or a substantial advanced showpiece, this store is designed to help you find useful, meaningful, and carefully prepared digital sheet music.
