Dvořák's Gypsy Songs are perhaps his most well-known vocal work with the centerpiece being "Když mne stará matka" (Songs my mother taught me). My transcription of the entire song cycle for cello and piano preserves the spirit of the songs. The vocal line is retained with the original slurring in the score but bowed and fingered in the cello part.

The cello part is mostly on the Suzuki Book 3 level except for a handful of bars in the final songs. Here is a link to the live recording of an earlier version of the transcription: https://youtu.be/DwIlwzdqmAg
