Dvořák’s String Serenade is a mainstay of the string orchestra repertoire, beloved for its warmth, lyricism, and graceful Classical-Romantic style. Yet many editions still preserve the historical “false treble clef” in the cello part, requiring cellists to read treble clef down an octave instead of using the now-standard tenor clef.

This edition updates those passages to modern tenor clef, making the cello part more practical and immediately readable for today’s players. The edition is based primarily on the old Czech critical edition by František Bartoš. We have also corrected several common pitch errors, with editorial corrections placed in brackets for clarity.
