Haydn - Cello Concerto in D major (Urtext Edition, Cello Part)

Haydn’s Cello Concerto in D major, Hob. VIIb:2, is one of the central Classical concertos for the instrument. Composed in 1783, the work was long associated with the cellist Anton Kraft, and at times its authorship was even questioned. The rediscovery of Haydn’s autograph manuscript in 1951 confirmed the concerto’s authenticity, while more recent research has connected early performances of the work to the London cellist James Cervetto.

This Urtext edition of the solo cello part is based on Haydn’s holograph manuscript and the first edition published by André. All editorial changes have been documented, allowing performers to see clearly where the edition departs from the sources.

This set includes the solo cello part and a first-movement cadenza by Yuriy Leonovich.
