Leonovich - Fantasie-Impromptu, Op. 58 for Cello Solo

Fantasie-Impromptu was composed in the summer of 2004 in friendship for Kim Sutton, my stand partner in the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra. The composition begins in a lucid dream. During the course of the piece the music explores colorful harmonies with tempo ebbing and flowing. I recorded the improvisation in one take and then wrote the piece
