Romberg wrote many works dedicated to students. These 3 trios (sonatas) have withstood the test of time and are still being taught around the world today. Unfortunately, the Gustav Jansen (IMC) edition that is typically used today is recomposed and highly edited. The original instrumentation for these works is a solo cello accompanied by a viola and a cello (not a double bass). We are offering a new, beautifully engraved edition, staying true to Romberg's original text, adding a few clarifications with regard to fingerings and bowings (in the separate cello part). We hope that these beautiful works will continue to be enjoyed by students and audiences in a way that the composer intended.
