J. S. Bach - Prelude and Fugue from Cello Suite No. 5 (Transcribed for 4 Cellos)

The Prelude movement from Bach's Fifth Suite is the only movement in the set composed in the French-overture style. In 2006, I wanted to create a "realized" fugue movement with 4 cellos. It was not my intention to arrange something in the style of Bach but rather what I heard in my head when I played this movement. I think if I were to do it again,

It was not my intention to arrange something in the style of Bach but rather what I heard in my head when I played this movement. I think if I were to do it again, I would try to aim for something more authentic-sounding. Over the last 15+ years, this arrangement has become very popular around the world. I've made a new typesetting of the piece closer to what was performed in 2009 with my studio mates from Stephen Geber's studio. This set also includes the score. This is an updated edition, different from the one on IMSLP.
